The Clarksdale congregation strives to worship God in spirit and in truth as taught in John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
Clarksdale Church of Christ is striving to restore the New Testament Church. Matt. 5:17-18 and Col. 2:14 below clearly show that The (Law of Moses) was fulfilled thru Jesus Christ. Matt. 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. The Apostle Paul told "the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse" that Christ blotted out the "handwriting of ordinances" nailing it to his cross. (Col. 2:14) Peter shows the proper relationship of the Old Testament to us today in 1 Peter 3:20-22 1Pe 3:20 "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. "The "like figure" shows that the Old Testament through types and antitypes gives us a method to understand how our Heavenly Father relates to mankind.
